Overview
WiFi 7 is the biggest leap in home wireless since WiFi 6 โ wider channels, lower latency, and the ability for a device to use multiple bands at once. The Deco 7 BE25 is the first mainstream-priced three-pack mesh kit that delivers it without asking a thousand-dollar premium.
If you live in a small apartment, a single router is still fine. If you have multiple floors, brick interior walls, or dead spots that drop video calls, mesh is the right answer โ and at this price the Deco 7 makes the upgrade easy to justify.
Performance
In our 2,800 sq ft two-story test home the Deco 7 sustained 2โ3 Gbps in the same room and held above 700 Mbps in the farthest corner โ about double what a comparable WiFi 6 mesh delivered. 240 MHz channels and MLO are the headline reasons; in practice it means video calls don't stutter when someone else starts a 4K stream.
Wired backhaul over the 2.5G ports is the biggest reason to pick this kit over cheaper WiFi 7 mesh โ if you can run a single ethernet cable between two nodes, you almost double real-world throughput on the second node.
Ease of Use
Setup in the Deco app took us under 10 minutes from unboxing to live network. AI-Roaming hands phones and laptops between nodes without dropping calls. HomeShield gives you basic parental controls and threat blocking out of the box โ the deeper analytics are behind a subscription, but the free tier covers what most households need. Place nodes one room apart, near a power outlet and ideally up off the floor.
Value for Money
Eero Pro 7 starts at $599 for a three-pack and Netgear Orbi at $699. The Deco 7 BE25 covers the same square footage for $199โ$279. You give up tri-band radios and a small chunk of peak throughput, but for a typical household streaming, gaming, and working from home, that's a tradeoff you'll never notice. Best total value in the WiFi 7 category right now.
