Overview
The mini-PC space has exploded over the last three years, with brands like Beelink, Minisforum, and GMKtec offering full Windows desktops the size of a paperback for under $300. The GMKtec G3 PRO sits at the budget end of that boom โ Intel Core i3, 16GB of DDR4, a 512GB SSD, and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed.
It's aimed squarely at the home-office user, the secondary couch PC, or the small-business deployment where you need five identical Windows machines for ticketing or POS โ not gamers, not video editors. We tested ours as a daily-driver office PC for three weeks.
Performance
On office tasks the i3-10110U feels modern and snappy: Office apps launch instantly, Chrome with 30 tabs is no problem, Zoom calls run smoothly with the GPU handling background blur. It comfortably outpaces the Intel N100/N150 chips found in $150 mini PCs at the same price tier.
4K video playback on dual external monitors works flawlessly โ we ran a 4K YouTube stream on one display while editing a spreadsheet on the other. Where it struggles: anything CPU-heavy like 1080p video export (slow), gaming (don't), or running multiple Docker containers (works, but slowly).
Ease of Use
Out-of-the-box experience is excellent. Plug in HDMI, keyboard, mouse, power โ Windows 11 Pro boots straight into setup. The dual-HDMI ports are clearly labeled and detect monitors instantly. Wi-Fi 6 connected first try and held a stable 700+ Mbps in our tests.
Port layout on the front and back covers everything most users need: USB-A 3.0, USB-C, dual HDMI, 3.5mm jack, and 2.5GbE ethernet. VESA mount included for hiding it behind a monitor.
Value for Money
At $180โ$220 with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD pre-installed, the G3 PRO is one of the best dollar-per-spec mini PCs on the market. A comparable Intel NUC 13 runs $400+ barebones (no RAM/SSD), and a Mac Mini M4 starts at $599 with only 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The closest direct competitor is the Beelink Mini S12 Pro at a similar price, which uses an Intel N100 โ slower than the i3-10110U on every benchmark we ran. For office work, the GMKtec is the better buy.
